While cannabis is legal in Canada, there are strict rules about crossing the border with it. You could face penalties if you travel with cannabis over the border without a permit or exemption authorized by Health Canada. When entering Canada, you must declare cannabis in any form to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) or face possible arrest and prosecution. When leaving Canada, you may not take cannabis out of the country. You may be subject to criminal charges if you attempt to travel to other countries with any amount of cannabis in your possession.
You must declare cannabis in your possession at the border. You must provide information that is true, accurate and complete. Show the proper permits, licenses or exemptions, and make your cannabis or cannabis products easily accessible for examination. If you don’t declare cannabis products to the CBSA or you give inaccurate information about the quantity or type of product, you may face a monetary penalty of up to $2,000 CAD. A CBSA officer will give you a Notice of Penalty Assessment (or penalty notice) that lists the offense and penalty amount.
In Vermont, state law allows adults who are at least 21 to purchase up to one ounce of flower or the equivalent of 8,400 mg of consumable cannabis in a single day.
If you live in Canada and want some high-quality weed, Vermont is just one border crossing away. Cambridge Cannabis Company is closest to Montreal in the province of Quebec, making it easy for many Canadians to score top-tier cannabis without having to pay high prices.
